I'm just about to receive the final parts for this two year old build. The history and significance of the truck is a long story, but in short, it was used on a summer camp for many years that my grandparents ran.

Something different, I like it. Are you going to use the xc-01 ( I think) independent axles on it. I may be wrong on the model type.

It's going to be leaf sprung on both axles (it will have an I-beam front axle and a narrowed TLT in the rear). I have some Tamiya semi truck wheels and tires on the way from eBay.

This was also the first lexan body I did bodywork on. I had to remove the bodypost and screw holes.

nice simple tranny setup!
No reason to make it overly complex with too many gears :D

Well I got my rear wheels and tires today. The seller sent a front suspension assembly from a Tamiya semi instead of the front wheels though. I hope I don't have to send it back because it's so cool! I started work on the drivetrain today. The tranny and rear axle are mounted so far.

I got a new transmission in it and got it all running, well, at least it moves. It doesn't run well at all. The driveshaft is having a little trouble staying on, but the worst part is the interference. This thing glitches like there's no tomorrow! I can't pull the trigger for more than two seconds without it stopping.

Nice work and cool to see and read some of what inspired it. I'm sure you will get running smooth soon.
