I bought two TLT-1 back a couple years ago just as they were being discontinued. I got one for me, and one for my wife. We built them together and had a lot of fun with them stock.... but then I got the building bug, and saw scale crawlers becoming more popular..... One thing lead to other and I eventually after much thinking modified my wife's stock TLT-1. I did it in a way so that if she/myself ever wanted it stock again, it would take a change over of only a few parts. So, here is my wife's TLT-1 Dodge Ram. (she loves her truck... she also has a Tamiya FF-02 Touring car with a pink Bettle body on it.)

Enjoy.

Looks like it has plenty of wheel speed for plowing through the mud. :)

Those tires are sure hard to find, and I WISH someone would make them in a more scale size, like 1.9's or 1.55's, that would be perfect.

Check out mud thrashers over on RC4wd...come in 1.5, 1.9 and 2.2.... 1.5's especially look great on clod builds. The Imex 2.2 versions shown can be bought over on Tower.

nice ram body... I used to have one of those Parma ones on my TA01... its a very sturdy body for being "inexpensive"

and Tamiya made an FF02???

Yeah, the body is cheap... but does a good job of holding up.

Yes, tamiya made an "FF-02" chassis.
This is the kit I bought:

ITEM 58248 -Toyota Celica - FF-02 (with HPI Racing Beetle body inset)

or go here----->

it's at the bottom under "FF CHASSIS"

FF (Front-motor, Front-drive) layout and lightweight chassis realizes crisp driving. There are 2 types of FF chassis: FF01 (bath tub type chassis) and FF02 (monocoque frame chassis).

FF01: Front motor, front drive Wheelbase 257mm
FF02: Front motor, front drive Wheelbase 257mm

It's kinda like one of the versions of the "Mini" style chassis, but with a longer chassis adapter in the middle to make it 1/10th legal race size. This car is hard to beat, i've driven the heck out of it, and my wife bashed the crap out of it. the suspension arms are so solid, and the whole chassis is so durable. I can't break anything on it. I've cracked and broke a few things or two on my TT-01, but that FF-02 car is solid. I LOVE racing it on carpet too, as a front wheel drive it's awsome handling. Not just a great starter car, but because a lot of the after market mini parts will fit on this chassis too.

Hope this helps.

By the way, I found this pic too........

She went for a little swim.... it was fun, but.... draining all the water out of the tires..... wasn't so fun. LOL I know how to water proof tires and other major items.... I just didn't think I had to do her tires, but.... I guess when she seen me driving my TLT in the water..... she followed me... :) Thank god I did the electronics at least. God I love her.

Cheers.
