I have 2 complete CR-01's, One is stretched and the other is shortened and another one running the CR-01 tranny, no pun intended , but they "rock". I wish I could find more of the chassis, its a great chassis to work with, I just need it a little longer, but thats easy.

Stretched

Shortened and only using cr 01 transmission and chassis

me too northwest, best RC crawler in my opinion. Put scale and performance together: You get a CR-01. Do you ever think theyll make a cr-02??

give them time and they could just very well make another rig ( cr-01 )

I am very impressed with the CR-01 too. I have only begun to tinker with it from stock but it is a great chassis and transmission to work with. I would really like to see Tamiya offer aftermarket chassis that are longer in a variety of configurations: 1) 2" longer in rear to fit more truck styled bodies; 2) 1" longer on each end (again simply to more easily fit additional bodies). Sure this is relatively easy to do on a project, but hop-ups and options are always fun and if the chassis just works then you can spend more time playing with the really fun bits.

If Tamiya releases a new truck kit for the CR-01 I'm all over it! Especially if it's a hard body. I currently have the Bronco kit and am considering the Jeep kit...how about a Jeep Cherokee hard body kit, tons of scale customization potential there; an old '70s era Scout; and personally and ideally a '92 Ford Ranger kit! :D All hard bodies. Anyone for a poll to see what the most requested new CR-01 kit could be?

+1 on the thumbs up. it's a great rig, almost 1000 part? come on, great build and tons of hop ups, easily mod'd on your own ingenuity. tamiya known all too well what they are putting out and what people are gonna do with it, they also are heavy lurkers, they do well, their japanese!
