before i got the bruiser body i was searching high and low for pics and info on putting a bruiser or hilux body on a CR-01, so i said, "just do it yourself and find out". so here it is, i just got the body thismorning from a fantastic ebay seller crazy4tamiya he is a great guy and sent a free grill with the cab and bed, along with refunding me $9 of the $18 shipping because that's how much it costed. amazing. who does that!?!? it's a bit beat up, but i am gonna be runnin it hard! all that's left is some detail paint on the decals and door knobs, cut the bumper off the grill, glue it in and i am ready to get it dirty and scratched up!comments are welcome.

linked up with a buddy that runs a bronco CR-01 (the tamiya copper paint looks amazing). there are great trails around here and a few small creeks.

Great pics!
I love the Tamiya Copper, I've got that on one of my FJ40 shells. It looks really radiant out in sunlight

Nice to know the toyota shell fits too. Kinda sad to beat on a rare body, though I guess if its just scratches (and not cracks and hard beating) its not too bad.
Looks like you are running waterproof servos... good idea, I have given mine a bath once and it wasn't happy for a few hours. Once i fry the cheap-o on there now (basically a sacrificial servo) I will get a nice waterproof one like you.

yea, the waterproof servo is a must, the traxxas ones we run are good, not the best torque, but good enough. make sure to get the 2075 NOT the 2056, the 2075 has considerably more torque and it's quicker. as for the bruiser boby, i was seriously beating it yesterday, rolled it multiple times and some great scrapes! i like to really use my stuff!

Most Hitec servos can run underwater too even though they aren't specifically waterproof, just water resistant. I've taken mine through water hundreds of times. They also make specific waterproof ones now, the model number will end in WP.
