Well, I decided to build my own Clod after purchasing a couple already built from Ebay and realizing how much fun they are. I was looking to build it as a multi purpose vehicle for racing and crawling. I decided to go with the CPE Terminator chassis. I already had a set of traxxas shocks, so I used those on the build.

I plan on running the rear steering locked out, but will be using the Thunder Tech Racing cvd's all away around so I can have the ability to switch to 4 wheel steering if I choose too. Next step will be to purchase a Super Clodbuster kit so I can start on the axles. Not sure what I am going to do for a motor and ECS combo yet and I am still trying to decide on how I want to configure the steering servo...there are just way to many optiions and and gets a little confusing.

Any tips and advice will greatly be appreciated...Thank You!

That should be a great build and it should perform well.

Are you going to stick with the stock body or mod it or something else?

Thanks!! I think I am going to use a Lexan body and have the stock body custom painted for shop only. I will post pics and updates as I progress. Anyone now anything about the Integy alloy gear cases and if they are any good? I have heard nothing but bad things about Integy..not sure if those are beeter quality than there other stuff. Thanks!

That chassis looks sweet.

Thanks!! After doing research on the Integy Clod axles and gearboxes on Rccrawler.com I decided to stay away from the integy stuff. I will go with the RC4WD axles and gear cases if I can find them.

very nice and clean! my only suggestion right now is to lower the chassis plates hieght, it looks too tall. look at aftermarket chassis for clods as a starting point for designs.

Thanks!! I have a body for it, just waiting for paint. It's a 57 Chevy Bel air and I have the Hemi kit also. My friend was getting rid of both so I took them off his hands. I ordered the Super Clod Buster kit along with the with the white wheels so I can dye them what color I choose. I should have it this week so I can start on the axles. The Lid should have a custom job by the end of next week. Will post some more updates as I go along.

I was skeptical on how the 57 chevy would look on this type of chassis and then I seen this pic on Ebay.

clod wheels dont die too well , you may want to paint them instead,

57 would look great on that chassis, if you lower the height of the body so that it looks like the real advenger[spl?]

cant wait for the updates!

Thanks for the tip on the wheels. What type of paint should I use?

:Tamiya1: for hard bodies :D , or you can use off the shelf automotive rattle cans, make sure to use a good primer .

UPDATE!!!

I didn't like the way the 57 chevy body looked on the chassis, so I saw a custom painted body cheap on Ebay. I am waiting on the axles braces so I can mount the lower links. I am using two tiatan motors and a EVX speed controller. I should have it runnig by this weekend.

Not bad for $36 shipped. You can find some really good deals on Ebay.
