For me this may be the most versatile of the tamiya kits, #58141 the jeep wrangler. I love this kit, i think to the point of obsession. The individual personality that can be given to these is very unique, i think because the real world also offers so many variations for the jeep. They not only promise the freedom to go anywhere, the freedom to feel like you are one with the elements but also the freedom to make it your own. I see countless modified jeeps everyday and to me they are all beautiful, yet totally different. Arguably,The jeep may have been the inspiration for off roading and crawling as we know it today.
These are two of my jeeps in the latter stages of personalization and modification.

03-30-2009, 10:23 AM
Those are the discontinued Jeep Wrangler kits. I see a couple on e-bay for around $280.00. Tamiya is re-releasing this kit any day now and I beleive it is exactly the same as the original. The price is going to be cheaper than the originals on e-bay.
7point2
03-30-2009, 01:35 PM
ding ding ding, you are correct arcocustom, these are all original release wranglers, and 280 dollars would have been a steal 8 months ago.
Arcocustom
03-30-2009, 03:54 PM
Yes, those kits were highly sought after and NIB kits were worth a pretty penny. News of the re-release has brought prices back to earth. Now's a good time for fans of the Wrangler, but not for the collector.

Yeah i plan on buying one or two of those new Jeeps Hoping to see some pics of how to lift them a bit :)
Arcocustom
03-31-2009, 03:41 AM
Due to the the fact that these trucks have IFS, there is a limit to how high they can be lifted. I have seen some trucks with a modest amount of lift running talleer 1.9's, even TLT wheels, but not 2.2's, because of the inner fender wells and clearance issues.
7point2
03-31-2009, 05:41 AM
yep, you are right again, 2.2's are just about out of the question.
here is a shot of a pretty stock chassis and queso with significant body and chassis lifts, you can clearly see the difference. i have also manged to tweak a little more out of it since this pic was taken. i can actually fit two tires under the front wheel now.
