Being a new forum and all I just had to start an obligatory "What body do you want to see on the CR-01 next" thread :D
The Unimog is awesome, I don't think I have seen Tamiya do any body like that before.
My pick to be next is also something they haven't done before, like a new late model version of a Land Rover or what about one of those small Suzuki things, that might be 1/8th scale though...

Not sure about the rest of you but I have had a few 4wd vehicles in the past. I took a great deal of pleasure in giving them heaps off-road, then hose them down and go out to dinner. I would love to see a CR-01 version of the Range Rover / Lexis / BMW X5 etc. The juxtapostion of hard core with shiny and clean appeals to me for some reason. Cheers, Tony

74 GMC camper special anyone? :D
ok, a newer silverado, or maybe a 89 chevy shortbed stepside, always liked that body too.
I think if they made the RAM body as there really hasn't been anything decent like that. Many would buy just for somethying different.
Something that is really udsed for 4x4 capabilities, not a grocery getter SUV :bangin:

Oh wow, that is a long list. Lets see a Dodge truck would be tops Like William said, M37 or other early Power Wagon, Current Dodge Ram, or Ramcharger, a Current or vintage Chevy truck pickup or Blazer, Early Ford Bronco, International scout, Jeep Wranglers of course, Scale Willys Jeep, Land rover defender, Early Nissan patrol, Toyota Tacoma, Ford Ranger, Current Ford super duty or F-150, I think the best selling choice on Tamiyas part would be an American Pickup or a Jeep. I could come up with many more too.

When You're a mopar guy it makes a big difference :D I do have a K5 pro-line I was working on but now they are actually doing a Ramcharger I can just sell that Blazer to a Chevy guy to finish. I would like to see a Dodge Ram Hard body from Tamiya as there are a lot of Dodge bodies out there from HPI, Pro-line etc. but they don't look right for scale builds

Yes I beleive the HPI defender shell is about the same as the CR-01 wheelbase. Might require a bit of adjustment to wheelbase for perfect match. I don't have one currently but did awhile back.

If it were a pickup, a stepside wouldn't be on my list. A pathfinder would be sick Smoke-Dog, but I have to say a 1979 K5 Blazer would be the best!

I would like to see a good rendition of the new Jeep Unlimited. If they did it correctly the body would look very good on the CR01 chassis. And besides, if they would do it I could paint it to match my real one.

A Subaru hatchback would be sweet (same body style as the brat, just a little shorter departure angle)
They should offer the brat from the factory on the new chassis too :D

Can the Wheelbase of the CR 01 be extended comfortably ? Or would i be better of buying something longer.

Very Cool.. So you just cut the chassis in half and spread them apart with another ali bar on each side ? simple as that ? and a few extra holes to drill ?
Need Longer links or Drive Shafts ?

That would rule... heck I think there is a HUGE market for the cherokee as well. You can find the body, but its expensive and a custom build.
