The madness has set in again, I need more styrene dust in my veins.

So far, I have gathered a Tamiya big rig 3-spd, and TLT axles.

http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4129/5027583230_58f8abef6a_z.jpg

I have made a grille, well almost, it still needs a little refinement.

And today, between running around trying to get ready for the wedding, (not till 10\10) I put this together,

Any thoughts ??

what 1:1 pic are you using for reference?

This one is what came up under a search for 77, (and Joe, or Jay, or McFig, I don't think I can edit my title, Could I talk someone into changing it to 1977 instead of 78. )

http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4108/5028463684_22fee76f23_z.jpg

And this a different year, but basically the same from what I can see

http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4083/5028302950_9f767d5a6d_z.jpg

Any info on these trucks is greatly appreciated. such as different external features between the different years in the general time span.

@ OldSchool, Thank you, (watched your drift video just a few minutes ago, thats pretty neat, I may have to build one sometime)

@McFig, Thank you for changing that, I wasn't thinking.

@ Wyoming, Thank you Seth, It may slow abit coming up.

I won't go into everything, but I was having trouble finding a good pic of a 77 hood, I found this,

http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4145/5036456687_5599d2af8b.jpg

Then I realized that I had this model of a 75, :D

http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4129/5038460583_f3d85e1107.jpg

So here goes

http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4153/5040874408_f44be72f1e_z.jpg

It still needs cleaned up and some more sanding, most of the putty will be sanded out

Also, a friend stopped by and strong armed a homemade chassis from some square iron tube. It needs to be shortened, but I will do that later, once I figure out how long it needs to be

Very nice work on the hood, I wouldn't worry to much about specific years since lots of these old trucks get parts from all sorts of years since so much time has passed since they were built. One of my buddies has an old Ford with parts from the 1960s up to the 90s and I think the truck is an 85 lol!

Nice work, I love that grille. It reminds me of a show I used to watch as a kid. Emergency the had an old Dodge truck they ran around in. When I was in high school I work in an Auto hobby shop on the Air base my folks were stationed at, and we served all the trucks on the base that weren't use for military purposes. So I got to work on several different years of those power wagons and they were all the same, except maybe the engines. Some had 318s, and others had 360s, but all were fun to drive for a seventeen year old. haha

Thank you Sonic, I watched that show all of the time, so I'm assuming you are around my age, (I'm 51). I have not heard that show mentioned in a very long time.. LOL

And your from Rockford, you are closer then most, so "HI" neighbor. :) and Welcome to the boards over here. I too have seen your USMC truck, I just don't remember where I saw it.

I worked on the bed last night, so far I have the right length or at least thats what they told me on 4x4scale. But the height is wrong

So I gave it a haircut

http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4150/5056087186_a9d19bb687_z.jpg

And added some flat stock around the top of the bed, then I had to go to work this morning, so there it sits, lonely...

I'm just a little behind over here.

I removed the big rig 3-spd and installed a highlift 3-spd, the roof has been cut out twice and it still needs a little more roundness or raising up.

This is how she stands at the moment, mostly just testing some paint, but so far I like it. I still have lots to do, so I'm a little ahead of myself, but thats whay we have sandpaper :)

scheme #1 with the proper vinyl- which if you need a good priced resource look at vinyl 7- I take all my work there and I am never disappointed in the product, service or price.

The new scheme is nice, but the Power Wagon scheme was just plain Awesome!! I agree Kevin there at vinyl-7 does great work he has made me several decals for my RCs and my fullsize cars. Either way your Dodge is sweet keep up the great work.

Thank you Guys, I took it out today, and it did great, even though I forgot to grind off the posts on the front axle. (I usually use them to mount a skid plate, maybe I still will)

It was a blast
