I impulse bought the Novak Goat system at a nearby Hobby Store for $240 :o and installed it when I built my CR01 and wow it is very cool, very smooth and runs for a very long time with even basic nicd/nimh battery packs. I am still very happy with the brushless setup after a few hours of crawling and bogging. I honestly can't tell much difference between a brushed lathe motor and the Goat except the price. I'm not usually into the latest technology but I am still glad I tried my first brushless motor even though for my next truck I'll go back to the $18-30 Lathe motors and $40-50 ESCs I use in most of my cars/trucks.

Too much money for me even if I had a Cr-01! In any case I am not going to be buying much of anything for a while (not even a CR-01 :()... I am trying to save my money for a milling table (one that can be converted to cnc at some point).

Don't know too much about brushless. I'm old school and just got back into the hobby a little over a year ago after a long hiatus. I remember picking up a RCCA and seeing Brushless motors and LIPO batteries and thinking "what in the world?" I am curious to what the advantages are though and may invest in one.
