I assume you are talking about a CR-01. If so.....
Just use the stock motor it comes with. You can upgrade later when you get more invested in this hobby. If you can't stand it, then I would suggest a 45T, 55T or 65T lathe motor. Something like this: http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXKUG5&P=ML
ESC doesn't need to be anything special. This would work: http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXGMR5&P=7
For the stock truck, the radio can be a 2 channel: http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXASX2**&P=ML

What truck do you have and what equipment do you have so far?

I would agree with McFig, I have been doing Tamiya Rcs for a long time and most of scale/crawl trucks still have just the basics a Lathe motor, Tamiya ESC, and a simple Futaba radio. The Novak Rooster Crawler system with 55t is also a good choice.

Tekin is cool. I used to race with a Tekin ESC and mini reciever back in my touring car racing days. But didn't they go out of business for like 10 years? I use an LRP waterproof esc. Super small and cheap. Check tower.

Hey guys... do all these esc's you suggested have drag brake? I'm looking for a good cheap one.

No. The only ones with a drag brake were the Tekin FXR and the Novak Rooster Crawler. Both of these speedo's are $90.00 and up. The LRP AI Quantum Runner is $40.00 and works well without drag brakes.

The Novak Crawler system with 55t is in my choice one of ur best noob system! and just all around for price and ever thing! Use em on all my trucks :)

The Novak system has a 27 turn motor limit and can run a 2s li-po. The Rooster comes pre-wired and is less adjustable. The Tekin FXR has a 12 turn motor limit and can run a 3s li-po. The Tekin FXR is not pre-wired and does not include a battery connector and you must solder the motor, battery, and esc power wires. The drag brake is adjustable on the FXR and the case is more compact. It all depends on what you want to do. The Novak combo is more plug and play and geared toward first timers, while the Tekin one offers more power handling ability but needs the tools, materials, and time to solder all your connections.

:welcomeani::cool:Integy has a whole line of hop ups for this kit, it is great in many ways. The kit can be custumized in many ways and there are a ton of scale things to get for it as well
