Factory skid is made of black plastic

After removing factory skid you can see both together

After installing the new Aluminum one you can see that is slimmed down and adds rigidity as a base to the chassis and motor mount.

CR-01 has a front and back servo tray. If you are only running front steering, the back acts as a place to bolt the lockout.

Adding a aluminum servo tray creates a rigid base for the rear lockout mount and your steering servos. Plastic is prone to have more flex so it could create a little slop under high torque situations.

Front and rear knuckles and hubs can be replaced with STRC replacements. That is if you want to keep the option for rear steer or adjustments.

On the rear if you are not using a servo for steering, you will lockout the steering with a rod attached directly to the servo tray. If you want to do away with that and use of the knuckles and create more of a direct straight drive for your rear wheels you can use a lockout type setup. Here you see the rear stock knuckles.

After tearing down the axles you replace the stock axles with longer threaded ones.

Here you can see them installed in the axle housings. also the new Aluminum Hex adapters are used.

Stock Dampers use a Cantilever system, with Plastic bodied dampers. With the upgraded STRC Aluminum shocks you get spring retainers so you could ditch the cantilever for straight shock setup if you choose by adding springs. Here you see the stock setup.

I kept the cantilever for my truck, but I have the retainers for down the line if I choose to change it up.

Ok with all the installed I will have to say, they went on like they were made to be there. The quality is outstanding and will add strength.
If you are looking for some nice aluminum upgrades, the STRC one are top notch.
Now I have to get a chance to use them on the rocks!

I really like them, since I had no thought on rear steer for this rig, it made sense and they really fit nicely.
