This is my first shot at painting an rc shell, not so good I guess. Still need a lot (lots) of practice:D

Why do you say that? It looks just fine.
What do you think of the CR-01?

The yellow and black paint went well but I made my mistake of spraying the window tint and it like went through the yellow. This thing is piece of joy! It got better when change the stock motor with a novak 55.

That looks just fine to me too, and painting lexan is a trial and error learning process, I'll bet I've painted at least 100 of them and I still mess up all the time :willy_nilly: I did the same thing with the window tint and ruined a vintage Blitz Supra body lol! I learned later to paint a layer of or two of white on the base body color then use the tint so it won't bleed. A good decal scheme can later be applied to hide mistakes :D

Are you either of you using Tamiya smoke tint? I have never had a problem bleeding with our smoke. With any tinting use light coats to get to the darkness you need. Though other companies tint bleeds no matter what.

lol, I'll bet thats why, I usually only use Tamiya PS sprays but I've had the same can of Pactra tint for 5 years afraid to use it again. (going in the bin finally) The nearest hobby store sells Tamiya paint but didn't have the tint so I bought the Pactra and it bleeds like a Vampire who laughs mid feeding :D

Looks good to me. Painting takes many years of experience to get down. I've been into this hobby for roughly 17 years and I still screw up paint jobs every now and then.

There is nothing wrong with it at all. Looks good to me. Nice chassis upgrades too.

:) Thanks, if you closely at the right side door you might notice some bit black areas from the tint.

Unfortunately Jeep bodies are kind of rare in hobby quality RC even though they are probably the most popular next to pickups that a maker could produce. The HPI Jeep Rubicon has a 12.5" which would be too long for the CR-01. Other than that I don't know of any Jeeps. The old long discontinued Tamiya Wrangler shells are beautiful but very costly and hard to find and not very durable for rock crawling. The best bet would be toy store RC jeeps that can be liberated of their body sets and then repainted to look scale. Example New bright or Nikko. I'm always looking for Jeep bodies myself since they are my favorite subject for an RC car. :)

Whoa! That looks good. No, that looks really good! I like the rock crushers on there. I'm loving these yellow Land Cruisers.
New to the forum - so hi to everyone... Just had to say Nice Paint! I can't remember how many I've painted, but I don't think any of them turned out that nice... Great Job, Pogo
