depends on what you like, I bought the F-350 but the I think the yota hilift looks more scale so I am converting my 350 to the toyota body. As far as radios and servos, Im using a futaba 4-channel surface radio with the servos that came with it
I wanted to stay scale looking so I stayed with leaf springs but I changed them to the red ones from RC4WD, they are a little softer. You can covert to a link suspension.
it all depends on how "you" want it to look and what you plan on doing with it. hopefully I haven't confused you

The Ford F-350 and Toyota Hilux are on the same chassis, so it is a matter of looks in that case, but I think the Hilux is more expensive. As for crawlability, neither truck is best. There are far better crawler kits out there, but as far as scale goes, Tamiya is the best. Like Jeffro mentioned, it is probably a wise choice to convert to 4-link suspension. I'm not sure how advanced your building skills are, because it is not an easy thing to do and can be quite confusing for a beginner. I suggest a 4-link setup because the leaf springs tend to bend and break, but they are far more scale than a 4-link. So if you do decide if a 4-link will suit your needs better than leaf springs, I would save money and buy an Axial kit or similar. As for a radio, I bought a Hitec 6 channel for $130, but you will probably be able to pick up a 4 channel radio for less.

The Ford F-350 and Toyota Hilux are on the same chassis,
Chassis rails are the same but with the Hilux you must use the rail extenders

I use a Futaba 4gwd 4ch radio (apx $130) with my Hilux and my F-350 I use Futaba 13152 hi torque digital servo for steering ($35) and a Futaba S3004 standard servo for shifting ($13) and the Tamiya TEU302Bk speed control is a great unit. The High-lift chassis is a lot of fun but in stock form its serious crawling abilities are limited by ground clearance of the tranny if you want to primarily crawl the CR-01s are a great place to start offering amazing abilities and scale bodies plus lots of hop-up potential. Whatever kit you decide to get you'll find people on here to help :welcomeani:

alright thanks for all those tips
i will be looking into it do they crawl OK right out of the box? or will i need to do some stuff? i dont want crazy flex or anything just to drive around with and a good scale look.
but also be able to go over good sized rocks

To go over larger rocks you will be needing larger tires like 2.2's or larger 1.9's. You can also check out www.tamiya3speed.com for more info about those vehicles and such.

witch ever one you get you will have a blast with. There is so much you can do to make them more capeable to do what you want, and still keep them scale.
