I purchased a TLT cheap years ago with the notions of building a scale rig but after adding a High Lift and CR-01 to my stable I've decided to attempt a crawler build instead. I initially lengthened the stock links and locked all 3 diffs but it wasn't long until the belt drive began giving me trouble. So, I've decided to go with a home built chassis and new tranny. The Axial Scorpion tranny looks nice (and reasonably priced). Are its outdrives the same size as the TLT axle inputs? Any suggestions on driveshafts? I'm new to this "less scale" type of crawling but I really enjoyed my CR-01. I'm not after a hard core crawler but something along the lines of the CR-01. Thanks fo any suggestions.

The scorpion tranny works very well (I have a few) The outdrives are the same 5mm but it has a large exposed spur gear which gets in the way on many custom builds, I find the RC4wd R2 tranny to be much better and easier to fit into custom rigs since has mounting position holes all over it and no exposed spur gear to worry about. it does cost nearly twice as much though. Another choice would be like Mcfig is doing on here with a CR-01 tranny. As for driveshafts most 5mm shafts can be made to work, the CR-01, Scorpion, a variety of Traxxas shafts, XC/CC-01 shafts and universal joints can be used on some etc.
