So the Pajero is complete, I am still waiting for the second set of fog lights and the LED kits for them. Also waiting for the spare tire to come in. I took it out in the muddy ice storm we had this morning, These tires are rubbish in the ice covered grass. Well not so good on the wet rocks either. Enjoy
Let me know what you think.

Nice waterproofing. It looks like it works well. The project boxes never worked out for me though. Why purple? It seems like a strange color for the Pajero. Looks good anyways.

Looks like a lot of fun, the stock tires are made to look very real but are not ideal for many surfaces, if you want more grip there are many good 1.9 sized tires which can be made to fit the Pajeo with some modification eg lifting the body or trimming the arches.

Looks like you had a great time. Love the waterproof boxes. Great idea. Where did the actually boxes come from?
Like Wyoming said, you can get other 1.9 tires. RC4WD Mud Slingers would give you tons of tracktion, but I don't how well they would fit. I'm sure others have tried.

The BFG's do perform much more to scale though. Other tires that I own perform much better, but have too much traction for a true scale truck. The rigs I run these on handle almost too scale!

Doesn't putting the stock esc inside the box cause some overheating problems or will this be no issue since we run low turn motors that limit the amp draw? Just curious, since I'm looking for ways to waterproof my electronics and these boxes look like they suite that purpose well.

You can get them from Radioshack in the U.S..

McFig, I got the boxes at Radio Shack for about 6 bucks I then used a sodering iron (cheapy) to melt the plastic and you can see the rest. The ECS's never gets hot with the Venom 55t that is on the truck now. There is no load to speak of. Use expanding silicon if/when you do this, it is worth the extra 5 bucks.
Wyoming, I was looking at my local HS and I couldent find any thing that would not need major modding done. There were some Traxxas wheels that would come close if I could lift the front and rear suspention about 1/2 inch. Any ideas?
Blazer, I always liked purple. Now I am thinking of naming it "the purple people eater" in homage to my friends jeep that we painted purple then he hit me with it. As for the tires they are good, just not when it is cold out that and they need to soften up a bit.

Those tires are the Losi Mini crawler tires. 26 bucks for all four wheels and tires shipped on e-bay. I just got 2 more sets. they are amazing on ice and snow.

I believe it. They are designed after the Losi Rock Claws which is one of the best crawling tire on the market. Sounds like they were a good deal.
