Well, wyoming owns the custom market but here are some shots of my ongoing build:

Junfac Lizard. Junfac Shocks. RC4WD Cyclone Wheels. RC4WD Rock Crushers. CR01 Drivetrain. Integy Motor. Traxxas Radio/Receiver. Tamiya ESC.

So far so good. Still to do:

*Add spacers to extend links and make wheelbase longer
*Order up new driveshafts as I "come up short" with stock ones
*Mount body. Going to use the standard front body mount/radio tray on top of a polystyrene tray that will be over the center tranny
*Rear will be a bit "tricky"
*Will probably "trim" a bit from the front & rear of chassis rails too.

Going to be a while now as I'm awaiting the spacers & part of the body mounts. Cheers !

Looking sweet! Good idea to just mount a tundra on a already 4 linked chassis :)

Managed to get the body mounted using some Axial spacers, the stock Tundra Front Body Mount/Radio Tray.

Still lots of things to do including:

*Paint
*Lights
*Driveshafts
*Skidplates

But, I think I'm making progress !

Thanks for the head on shot of the Tundra:cool:

The tires don't stick out to far and as stated you could put some flares on to hide it a little more if you wanted to.

I'll be watching this build!!

Thanks ! There will be a small delay in progress as I'm bidding on some kits on Ebay which will probably eat up my next 3 monthly RC budgets  !

Nice build....I'm doing a similar build on a JunFac Lizard with the F350 body. Question for you, what did you use to attach the styrene tray to the chassis and where did you attach them to the chassis?

thank you.

thank you.

I used four servo mounts I think. Two mounted to the unused link mount holes on the chassis. The other two mounted to the unused holes on the shock towers. I needed to use spacers on top of them to get the styrene tray even. Hope that helps. When I get the chance I'll try to get a better pic but that may involve some disassembly ! Cheers. (On a side note project is really delayed now as I just snagged two NIB Mudblasters & an original NIB Hornet) !

Yes...I now see light. :D

I had never thought of using servo mounts for this application. I see what you did so please don't do any dis-assembling. I'll post some pics when I get to that stage.

Thank you so much.

Well it's that time.

I used the Tamiya TT01E sedan servo mounts and aluminum supports from an older Tamiya 4WD buggy (I forget which one) to support a Kydex plate.

As you can see, I able to use the tilt bed hinges and the same buggy supports and spacers....after some fine tuning it works great.

Almost there, I'll hopefully have the truck finished in about 3 weeks...time permitting.

Well the body looks good on there and seems solidly attached. Very creative using old Tamiya parts and adapting them for your project.:thumb:

G'Kar - great progress !

Here's some updates on my Tundra topped CR01/junfac:

Got my fender flares mounted . Also ordered up the following:

Proline roof rack & light bar (with LED's)
Junfac driveshafts & skidplate for front axle
LED's for the front bumper fog lights

Starting to get excited now. I think I may go red for the paint colour but open to suggestions !

Thanks ! Performance ? Not sure yet - I also replaced the integy motor with a Tamiya Sport Tuned for some "pep". I've only "tested" it around the house and it's zippy. The suspension seems relatively plush as well. I usually only build for the shelf but I may actually use this one.

Warning - the Junfac shafts - if you get 'em check the grub screws for tightness and maybe thread lock them. I took it for a test and one of the screws worked out and the shaft came apart - took me a half hour to find the parts in the carpet .

Only a few details left to add such as: Roll Bar LIghts, Running Boards, taillights & a few decals. Then I'm off to take worthy photos.

You are the third person in recent days that has had this happen. To keep everything from falling apart and being lost, I recommend using a small section of heat shrink tubing around the CV joint where the pin is located. Then, if the set-screw does come loose, the tubing will retain the pin, rather than falling out and ending your day.

I agree, no one owns anything, Seth is a master builder, but there are master builders all over. It's all a taste thing as well, there are builds that people go crazy about and I look at it saying it's ok....

There are alot of style/personal points with each build, I think we can all agree any build is a good build. We can all gain ideas from them all and move in a forward direction.

I like the Tundra/Lizard build, I have other chassis' that I like better than the lizard. Gkar finished his F350 Lizard and it turned out really cool. I was just happy to see it get dirty. It was his first build from many, many years at working at Tamiya that he actually drove in the dirt! :omg:

I hope he posts some pics up for others to get ideas from.

No problem, glad I could help. Yeah, removing that set-screw, applying some thread-lock, and making sure it is tight, is a good idea. Using the section of heatshrink is just cheap insurance, in case it does come loose. You were fortunate to find all the peices. The othes weren't so lucky. When theirs worked loose, they were out on the trail.

hey G-kar and backtomyroots, how does the junfac ladder frame compare to the stock cr-01 chassis as in...
How does it perform with the 1.9s
how much articulation does it have
is it worth the money?

No idea - mine just sits on the shelf looking pretty ;). I would say that it is more scale though. I only gave it a very short drive for the photos when it was done but the suspension had some decent articulation. Sorry I can't help you more.
