cr-01

Hey guys, just joined the forum, it's awesome. I recently built a brand new tamiya cr-01. All that's in it is the motor, no electronics. When i try to push the truck forward, or backward on the floor, it is very difficult, usually when you push a truck on the floor, it will roll for a minute, but this if let go it will come too a stop. I went over everything i did, and built it right by the books. I'm hoping it might just be the gears have to be worked in, with a couple of runs. Please let me know what you guys think. Thanks

My HL does the same thing it is the locked axles If you built it by the book then the axles are your problem otherwise Idk

Hi, welcome. Nice to have you here! With the motor bolted in, there will be some drag to the drivetrain. You could remove the engine and test roll it and see if there is something wrong. Or, you could hook the motor leads to a charged pack and test run your work, but be very carefull when you do this, because it will take off on you. I recommend you remouve the wheels when test running the truck and keep your fingers away from any rotating parts. Please do not hurt yourself. Having said all of that, the truck works flawlessly when assembled correctly, according to the instructions. Read them again and make sure you didn't forget or miss something. Be safe and have fun.

:welcomeani:My did the same thing it is the planty gear diff and the axles its all good and Arcocustom Be careful when you do test it:welcomeani:
Sounds totallt normal with the motor in it. Also, the axle gears (ring & pinion) are pretty tight on the CR-01 axles when assembled. They will break in after use and lossen up. Mine were really tight and kinda rough after assembly, I called Tamiya and they said to first back out the diff lock screw about a turn, that and breaking in the gears will be GTG.
