Hi all, I keep getting email reminders to "enter" in the Tundra Contest. I built one of those this past winter also. So far its been mostly a shelf queen. I need to do some more to it, just not sure what. Actually I like it plain and simple on this one.

Anyway I know time is short and I will need better pics outside, but I would like some feedback, good or bad. Heres the pics I have now, ( I know, I need better ones) :)

I used this as a basis for what I wanted. Looks like a street toy actually, I think it has links in the rear.

So should I, I know there will be some exceptional rides.

I say, Go on ahead and give it a whirl. Here are the rules. :link:http://www.scale4x4rc.org/forums/showthread.php?t=32147

The 5 pictures you submit are gonna make or break you, so make them as scale lookin as possible. They have to be pleasing to the eye and fool the veiwer somewhat. Probably some nice action shots along with some poser shots. Imagine the truck off-road, dirt flying, air under all four tires, something like that.

Yes, I beleive so. They are part sponsor. I am a member and yes. they treat people rotten, especially new people, but I ignore that.

Entering the contest does not mean that you have to be a member of scale4x4. There is a lot of useful info on that site. We did the contest with them to try to broaden the entries and opened world wide a first for TAMIYA America, Inc.

There is no reason why you should not enter, What do you have to loose? Its a beautiful truck you have take some nice pictures and submit it soon!

Who knows you could win some cool stuff!

Hi Joe,

First off, Thank you very much, I learned a couple things from your build and I thank you for that. Its cool that Tamiya has been doing this. You are correct sir.

The only reason I said or wrote that about joining was because there was a line about the contestant needing to use their username on the "entry form" email to them, this may be a silly question but do I just use the one from here ? :o Am I reading to much into it ? :D

Anyway, I will see what I can do. Thanks again.

Sorta goin for the " I only drive on the highway, but I can go off road if I need to" kinda like a rich man's big toy. :)

Jeff,

Thanks, I need to spend some time taking more pics as I have added more to my tundra. Just been lazy not to post it.

Yes if you used your username from here we would accept it. The username thing was more of just who you might be from scale4x4. I can tell you there are alot of nice people on scale4x4, but as on any site you can get people that can be a pain I'm sure.

Whatever your choice, your here and we thank you for your time here.

I like the blue, if it means anything? :common001:

Kind of sets your shocks off a bit more!

Roll bar needs lights, else its lost

Thank you joe, you have answered my questions, the rings will stay and the rollbar is gone because I like it better without it.

It just took me awhile to figure somethings out on here, Thank you and Tamiya for letting me use this forum or should I say all of us..I'll stop babbling now. :D

Time is short on this contest, goodthing email is quick (most of the time) :)

These won't be sent in, just a little practice session. So how about some opinions, good or bad, Doubt if I even come close, but what thehey, gotta try, right. :)

as far as scale stuff, all I have left is a jack and some chain, besides I like this bare minimum look.

A very nice truck and be sure to enter. those are some Great shots already, if you want a little tip from the guy who won the Hilux Build off my trick is always to get low angles (lye on ground) and angles that make the truck look its best, ie don't have shots of tranny hanging down or obvious view of servos inside etc. A good picture is a great way to show off your work to the world because the viewer can only see what you and your camera want them to see and most trucks (mine anyway) always look better in pictures than person, so keep doing what you're doing and get them pics in fast :thumb:

The sun stopped cooperating with me, but here are some pics.
I think I took about 80 pictures this morning. Then I had to choose 5, these aren't those, close though.
Not worried about winning, just wanted to be able to say I participated in something I enjoy. :)

Thank you Joe, Kinda hopin it will draw some more interest to the Tundra. :)

Man, I dug this up out of the basement !!

I'm going to start a build thread on this dusty mess, its been robbed of a lot of its goodies, so I'm going to basically put it back together, just with a few different parts maybe, and I'm leaving the body alone ( I think) its a sweet body, its kinda silly to make it a regular cab when everyhing else around here is exteneded.

Once I figure out which axles I'm going to use, I'll start the thread

Plus I have plenty of parts leftover from the Super Duty build
