Since my 3 years old kid is asking for his own car, I decided to use parts that I already had and build him a car.

The idea wasn't to make a "top performance" rock crawler but a car that a young kid can drive over the rocks... on his age, he is happy just by driving the car on the same rocks his dady does ;)

Just toke me arround 6 hours to build this baby.

After this, I've changed the rear 4-link mount for a better looking one, and 4-linked the front end also. I still need to make it a little "kid proof".

This is going to sport a TLT bodyshell... small bodyshell for a small kid :)

That is a very nice rig you have built for your son. Looks like it will crawl just fine. Interested to know what "kid proofing" is.:D

Need to put some tubing between the shock mounts in order to give a little more resistance in those points of the chassis... the way my son drives, probably the chassis will bend on those points.

This video was filmed (http://www.tamiyacrawlers.com/forum/showthread.php?t=664) almost 1 year ago... you can see why the car need to be "kid proof" :)

Why do I ear/read that a lot???? I already have 5 kids at home with ages ranging from 3 and half to 21 years... no need for more.

I'm starting to think I "overspec" this baby! I've tested the car inside the house and was able to climb to some places were I can't go with my axial. Then I went outside... the same happen

Either this is a high spec car or I've been wrong about my axial for the last 2 and a half years :o

The initial ideal was to build a car that would look like a rock crawler without caring for it's performance... a 3 years kid old doesn't care about performance, turning radius, aproach angle, etc... he just wants something that runs when he squezes the trigger.

The specs are:
- Axial transmission
- TLT-1 axels
- Reign J2-TT chassis
- Novak Rooster Crawler combo
- Ace 1015 for steering
- Junfac beadlocks (each front tyre weights about 320 grams and each rear about 200grams)
- Proline Masher 2000 with regular foams cutted in star pattern
- Big bore aluminum shocks (came with some other pieces that I bought on ebay, so I don't know the brand)

I'm going to gear it down a bite because I think it's a bite to fast for him.

Will try to get some picts of the young driver driving this car.

That rig looks like serious business to me. :thumb: Not surprising that it goes where others fear to tread.
