Like I said, it was a long winter locked in my basement cell. :)
I really still wanted the Toyota Hilux Hilift, so , I just happen to have a complete 3 spd chassis left over after I borrowed the Ford body for the Super Clod chassis, (Does this make any sense  surely Im not the only one ) I bought a hilux body and all of its goodies that I would need to turn it into a Hilux Highlift.. Here is the result. See what you think..:) Good or bad

Ummmm....WOW!!! This one is very nice. I see more than a few interesting mods on there. Wonder if anyone else can spot them all. A couple jump out at you, while some aren't so obvious. Overall, a top notch customization.:thumb:

Thanks fellas, I appreciate it. :) there are a few mods I've done to it, this was my first body work project, and I like the way it turned out myself, but thats just me :)
If anyone is interested I'll dig up some up some of the pics of its mods..maybe.. (If anyone has any stock shock towers for a high lift that they aren't using, I would be interested, I was playing with a drill and hacksaw.. :o ( its alive its alive !! ) :D

You are correct so far, there might be 1 or 2 more :) And for the paint I used Fiery orange by Testors ( I think )
And my fenderwell arches are no where near as nice as yours :) you do have the sweet lookin two tone green Highlift, correct ?

I think it came out great. The bed work is top notch. Wouldn't mind seeing a few more pics showing what you did to the bed.
The only thing that jumps out to me is the front bumper/push bar. For some reason it seems like it doesn't quite fit. Not sure why. Maybe just me.

Nice Yota, good job!
Thank You hdmm :)
As for the mod's, heres a couple pictures
Here's the red leaf springs, and lowered shock mount on the axle's

The drop bed, took forever (seemed like it) :D

And I chopped or shaved the rollbar to just one tube instead of two, and chopped off two of the lights on the rollbar. I think it looks a little more real.
Here is the original

and after the dremel

For the bed, before I started using a different paint combo, I used Rustoleum Hammered Paint, then just sprayed it with black. Its ok but I need to repaint the bed with my Faux Rhino liner.
As for the shock towers, I won't show them. They are mangled.. I was learning at the time. :D

On my YOTA, I just bolted the shocks directly to the frame.
I have a set of the stock jobbies if you want/ need them.:)

There is just 4 things I don't like in your car... the 2.2 tyres. I belive taller 1.9 will look much more like "the real thing" (that's just my opinion).
All the rest is just fine and I like your roll bar... it looks very real.

Thank you for your honesty octanas, :thumb: I generally don't use 2.2's anymore but when I built this, it seemed like a good idea at the time.. its one of those, I like them, but I don't. I think RC4WD 1.9 Rock Crusher's would do the trick..
Im glad you liked the rollbar, it was a last minute thought when I was building.

Cool on the dem dealys and shock towers. That will basically finish those 2 trucks..
Its usually a toss up on tires, I like both. For me, it depends on the truck.
Better watch out for them RC police cars, they hide everywhere :D

Thank you, the bed was interesting, I would do it differently next time now that I have a little more experience with styrene.
The pushbar\something... I wasn't going to use it, but at the time I wanted the foglights\pushbar lights and it was the easiest.
What if I thinned out the base where it attaches to the frame. Is it too visible ?? Maybe take the top bar off :) Any thoughts " anybody "

I traded mine away, new in package.:D That's what I thought of that. The photo on the side of the box shows the Hilux minus that peice.
The Mountaineer has a better brush guard.

I had 3 sets, I used 2 and 3\4 on this truck, I still have 1 set left.. I like to see pushbars on real trucks but most of the ones available for RC are too big or just not right and I have looked at a lot of them lately.
Time to get the dremel, welder, cutting torch, hacksaw and bandades out :D

That was before the new shock towers came, I guess I will give it up, The Tamiya guys didn't know either. :) I installed the skidplate on backwards just to see what it would look like, and I just never turned it around. :banplease:

Took this out for some pictures, its no longer drivable, I stole its innards for the Blazer, I changed out the rims an tires to 1.9's and took off the pushbar and put the shocks back where they belong, and installed an extra leaf per corner. Now to find another radio an ESC
After seeing these pics, I see I need to lower the body a little

I think by doing that and maybe takin out the body lift kit that comes with it. I still have room before the motor hits the hood
May have to pull the motor anyway, found this in the oil pan :D
