I just thought I would say that I wish Tamiya made stand alone axle kits!

Just think about all the Tamiya axles that have gone into crawling: TLT Axles, Clod Axles, etc. So many people part out entire kits just to get the axles.

EDIT: I went and found some links to the coming soon items on tamiyausa.com:

I wonder when they will be released...

:)

But what about clod axles, high-lift axles, or CR-01 axles?... :p

It could be months before they get them released. :(

I saw the Hilift and TLT axles retail for $87.00 And I'm sure that's for each. Lets hope they sell for much cheaper. Tamiya needs to step on it cause there are a couple options out now and I saw a set, front and rear, with locked diffs and full bearings for $100.

given the popularity of crawling and the speed at which it is growing, i wouldnt be surprised if tamiya has lots more stuff coming down the pipe. hopefully some new chassis and bodies too. just think, they really make some super competition on road and off road racing chassis, which wasnt always the case, so i am sure the progression will come, i am just praying they move quickly.

I believe I've said this in another thread already but here goes anyway...

I think the success of these axle kits depends solely on whether or not they'll be available in places other than Tamiya's website. If for example they're available on Tower then the price should come down quite a bit just like everything else. However if these are a Tamiya USA website exclusive then the price you see there will probably be what you'll be paying to get your hands on one and in that case they're extremely over priced and unlikely to sell very many. Just think about it, $87 per clod axle is $174 for a set. You can get the entire Clod kit for about the same price on Tower. (using the right code)

we need something like a sams club/ wholesale discount store where we can buy discounted items and in bulk for tamiya and rc.

Wow. I just checked Tower and they have the TLT and Hilift axles listed "order pending" for a whopping $71.99! Each. That's crazy, I'd be OK if it was for a pair and they had bearings included. Lets hope that price comes down. Shoot...I bought my whole TLT kit for $80.

Jeez! I can get TWO complete TLT axles for $80. I really think tamiya should come up with some 5 inch axles, even the XC axle is too wide for me.

That is probably the MSRP. Hopefully when they get them in stock the price will drop.
