Anybody know how to get anodized parts unanodized? I hate that shit. Besides sanding the shit off, I am at a loss.
I use "Super Clean" available in most auto stores in the USA.
You can also use easy off oven cleaner, but super clean is less toxic.
FYI, we tested our Hop-up drive shafts in the Tamiya booth at shows for the CR-01 and they held up to all the abuse with no problem.

Thanks for the "super clean" advice. What does the "super clean" can it is used for? Now to see if it sold in Okinawa...

It's a degreaser/cleaner for your car. But I would not use it on mine after seeing what it does to anodizing.
You can also use it to clean chrome from your R/C plastic parts.

It removes chrome in a hurry :) You can also find "super clean" at walmart, but I don't know if they have one where you are at. :D

Removing anodizing from aluminum
http://www.finishing.com/2000-2199/2076.shtml
Use a phosphoric acid bath at about 20 precent phosphoric acid to 80 precent water (1 gal. of acid to 4 gal. of water ratio) heat liquid to 190 degrees. Then submerge part depending on size for 1 to 3 minutes and then rinse well in water.
Where to buy phosphoric acid?
You might try your local home improvement stores.

Found some info on Castrol Super Clean
http://forum.ih8mud.com/chit-chat-section/104536-did-castrol-sell-super-clean.html
I heard Castrol took it off the market.
It worked so well, it stripped the paint off my frame and severely chemically injured my hands. I hadn't expected or wanted either result.
Super Clean has a lot of sodium hydroxide (lye). That's why it's corrosive. I love it. It will eat aluminum parts away though, gotta be careful.
More info on degreasers that will remove anodizing .

So, we have:
Castrol Super Clean
Super Clean (purple jug, Wal-Mart)
Purple Power (Lowe's)
Greased Lightning (Pep Boys, RS Strauss)
Easy-Off (or anything based on Sodium Hydroxide)
Dawn Power Dissolver
You forgot sulfuric acid and a blow torch

I used it with bare hands multiple times with no problems. It does tell you to use gloves, so be careful.

No problem.:)
Sodium hydroxide(NaOH), also known as lye and caustic soda, is a caustic metallic base. You should minimize skin contact. You should wear impervious type gloves, such as rubber, neoprene, nitrile, or polyethylene.
Found some more info on a Zep product (Purple Heavy Duty Degreaser).
Home Depot sells the Zep product (Purple Heavy Duty Degreaser) in 5 gallon buckets for around $25. The stuff will eat through aluminum and your hands every bit as fast as the (old, apparently) Castrol product. I have gone through 4 buckets in the last year and a half. Neoprene gloves are a must, I also wear safety glasses. I've found the stuff is better at degreasing than gasoline, mineral spirits, Simple Green, and everything else I've compared it too. Very corrosive and destructive too- don't put aluminum, brass, rubber or even some plastics in it for very long, and not at all if you care what the aluminum or brass looks like or if it's a bearing surface.
