Well, none of my other projetcs are done so I figured I would start another one......:D
So.....I picked up this set of newly built TLT axles w/
12mm Copper Wheel Hubs for TLT from RC4WD
RCP Crawlers Super-Max Clearance TLT Aluminum Knuckles
Fat-Rock Aluminum Axle C's
Straight Axle Adapters from RC4WD
TLT-1 Straight Axle Kit from RC4WD
Rubber Shielded Ball Bearings
The Diffs are locked with an extra gear in the Diffs
I was thinking because these are a little narrower that they might be a good base for a dually build. The problem I found is that I can't find a dual wheel adaptor for 2.2 wheels, so I made my own. What I have here is a prototype, they will probably need a little refinement here & there.
I took some STRC aluminum AX10 body mounts, cut of the post, kept the hex, drilled the hex's threaded holes bigger and tapped them for 4mm. Those are used to hold on the single wheel and also serve as a place to attach the second wheel. I picked up some 4mm bolts, washers & nuts from Lowe's along with some nylon spacers. ( will be making them out of aluminum later ). Those I use along with AX10 wheel hex's and insert them in to the second wheel and tighten them up. Then I take that second wheel assembly and screw it onto the hex that I made. I used a set of CR-01 wheels w/ Moab tires (Thanks to member, Northwest 4x4!!)
Now I have dual wheels. :common001:
