Hey all, seems like a kinda small community as of yet, but here is my last build
Basically I took a f-350 high lift shortened it, 1 1/2 inches, used an hpi wk trans as a transfer case linked up to the high lift axles, and an integy gear reduction located under the hood area...
For electronics I am running a Rooster crawler ESC, and a novak 55t lathe motor... gives me plenty of oomph when I need it.
Here are the pics! Enjoy and let me know what you think!

Sweet rig, I think thats one of Tamiyas nicest looking bodies, especially without the BF livery. Love the realistic look of your paint and body nice work

Like a true and functional beater truck! The dirty scuffs and stains make it look real. ;)

Thanks guys! Means alot coming from straight up Tamiya Nuts! LOL
I always loved the BF, just not the fact it was 2wd, so The King Lift came into being.
I am also running Rc4WD leafs, full packs front and rear, as I taco'ed the stock ones... I just wish the "value of the Blackfoot body hadnt gone through the roof recently, as I want to rebuild/redo anothe body with a drop bed....
Ironically the heavy patina and weathering came from my running out of paint halfway through and sanding runs out... (under preassure to get it ready for the first scale run of the WPAC seasion) so I put all that model railroading know how to work on my RC... I love the results, but somehow yearn for a blingy as bought looking stepside...

Oh yea I also have LIGHTS!! LOL I am currently reworking my light setup using an eracers light set, but currently am running 2 white leds up front and two red out back... for the rear lights I shaved off the molded "lenses" from the stock BF tailgate leaving just the base and ring, then hollowed out the bottom for the wires, I used the red lenses off the back of a newbrite jeep, and trimmed them to fit.. I have however sbnapped one of them off, and have to figure out how to make a round "trailer" style light to replace it, (keeping with the whole beater truck theme)
on to the pics.

If anyone has a set of Bullhead (long shot I know) Headlight buckets and lenses please let me know as I am trying to figure out a more scale looking headlight setup....

That's what I ment.
How do you like the WK tranny?
Is it slow enough?
I used a e-savage tranny on a build and couldn't gear it down enough with a 35t to be smooth,Good wheel spin, but a little fast for the trails.

Well the WK tranny acts as a transfer case, there is an integy gear reduction that is attached to it via a much shortend dtriveshaft, it attaches where the spur gear would be on a stock WK....
works great!

ok here is the setup as I originally did it using a GD-600 gear reduction, I have since swapped it out for an Integy unit (gear reduction) as the GD-600 was not giving me enough of a reduction and causing the motor to overheat and shut down.
The one mod that you will need to do to the integy unit is sleaving the output shaft ( as it is much smaller than the drifshaft connection) so that you driveshaft to the WK trans is secure.
I ended up using to peices of brass tubing (sleaved together then over the output from the Integy Gear reduction) with a hole drilled through it to the flat side of the output shaft so that when you hook up your driveshaft it holds everything together.

Wow, looks like my first 1:1 4x4, think I traded that partially for the 280 Z.

Not sure if its cool but I have this up on fleabay.. Gotta move a couple of things... I hate to see it go, but... you all know how it goes..
It has been updated with an integy gear reduction unit to replace the GD-600 and now works much more reliably...

I hear that, can't keep them all or how would we buy/build more, I really like the creative driveline mods on this one:thumb:
