Ive trying to comprehend the servo setup for my Tamiya Truck and its 3 speed gearbox as ive only ever used 2 channels.

The gear plate that comes with the controller, and you place over the left or right stick... Just what order does it go ?

I assumed the left stick would be throttle up/down and use the gear plate on the left stick so left is 1st, middle 2nd and 3rd gear to the right.. But it has a spring so centre's itself in nuetral, So the gear is allways going to be in 2nd at nuetral. Is this not as much as a problem as i assume its going to be ?
Then just use the right stick for steering. ? 4th channel empty at the moment.

I wanted to use the right stick for gear changing and place the 'gearplate' sideways so up would be 1st, middle would be 2nd and down would be 3rd but the plate doesnt let the stick move sideways, when up or down.

If theres a thread to this, Just point me to it :) The controller came in Japaneese and the instructions for the controller setup in the Tamiya Globe Liner manual is also in japaneese...

Cheers for any tips.

The shift gate goes over the left stick. You will be able to shift, 1st, 2nd, and 3rd, on the fly.

That is CORRECT. :)

Wont that drop the revs to get to 2nd gear ? and again to get to 3rd ? or can u change the gear fast enough that the truck wont loose momentum and u barely notice a loss of speed between changes ?

Cheers again Arco :)

It will shift like the real deal. Try it and you shall see. :thumb:

Ok :) week or so and I'll know :P

I drive a light truck everyday and hence my ponderings to the gear change, But realised today.. Im sure it will still take off from a stand still, even in 3rd (my truck does! when empty anyway)
