Hi!

It started out like this :

http://i181.photobucket.com/albums/x276/ceodude/my%20hi%20lift/highlift2.jpg

then came the 2.2's

and this is how it is today

so tell me what you think guys :thumb:

Oh wow! I really like the Rubicon! The truck looks good too but it does not beat the Rubicon in my opinion. :)

Thanks man:thumb:,since i've put the 2.2 on my high lift i had second thoughts about
the body it just didn't do it for me so i decided to put on a new one, i looked and i saw that there are not any jeep body's on a high lift as far as i serched
and since i'm a big fan of the jeep 1:1 and happened to own one
the choice was made very quickly
but i wanted to make it with a soft top,

I like it with the Jeep body better, but........

The Geo's look good with the F350 body, not so much with the Jeep body. They look too small. So, I think if you are going to go with the F350 body then keep the Geo's, but if you are going to go with the Jeep body you need to get taller 2.2's

Besides that little thing, it looks great!

Well it had plenty of rolls and the frame holds just fine:thumb:
the frame is very strong and the body is flexible, so it can endure
the roll overs, look at the frame and see how i build it:

what size brass did you use for the cage?
the stuff I have isnt strong enough, bends to easy.

Dakillswitch

It's a 2mm diameter brass rod,and remember you can bend it
once! if you try to undo the bend it will break.

I was able to get some free time on my hands so ....did some work on the Jeep

I don't have access to a welder at home... so i fabricated some "Rock sliders" out of aluminum
I know the pics are not so good guys but tell me what you think

So out of this :

came this:

and on the jeep:

http://i181.photobucket.com/albums/x276/ceodude/The%20Jeep/DSC00113.jpg

next was the rear lights...still need to make the red covers for them but IMO they came out reasonable.....

Well....since the guy that was suppose to make me the bumpers in a cnc is taking his time
I've decided to do them on my own... ( but since I don't have a cnc at the apartment ....I did it the old way....by hand )

so this is what i did:

First thing was to saw in half the Rectangular aluminum tube :

http://i181.photobucket.com/albums/x276/ceodude/The%20Jeep/DSC001118.jpg

then I had to file the shape (front bumper) :

http://i181.photobucket.com/albums/x276/ceodude/The%20Jeep/DSC00120.jpg

then i cut some styrene to fill the gap :

http://i181.photobucket.com/albums/x276/ceodude/The%20Jeep/DSC00123.jpg

then after i glued them in, and file them to the desirable shape .....this is what came out of it front&rear bumpers

http://i181.photobucket.com/albums/x276/ceodude/The%20Jeep/DSC00078-1.jpg

http://i181.photobucket.com/albums/x276/ceodude/The%20Jeep/DSC00077-1.jpg

and some mock up pics

front :

http://i181.photobucket.com/albums/x276/ceodude/The%20Jeep/DSC00079-1.jpg

http://i181.photobucket.com/albums/x276/ceodude/The%20Jeep/DSC00080-1.jpg

and rear :

http://i181.photobucket.com/albums/x276/ceodude/The%20Jeep/DSC00082-1.jpg

still need to mount them on and paint them but all in all I think they came out great :nice:
what do you think guys

I have lil update ...

Mounted the rear bumper and the spare tire :

http://i181.photobucket.com/albums/x276/ceodude/The%20Jeep/DSC00086-2.jpg

http://i181.photobucket.com/albums/x276/ceodude/The%20Jeep/DSC00085-2.jpg

Oh and i made me a hook for the winch
This is how i did it

(Sorry for the bad pics had to use my phone camera for this :sorry: )

first I've drilled two holes in a 4mm thick piece of steel like this:

http://i181.photobucket.com/albums/x276/ceodude/The%20Jeep/DSC00087-2.jpg

then I used the saw to open up the hook :

http://i181.photobucket.com/albums/x276/ceodude/The%20Jeep/DSC00089-1.jpg

after that I've cut the hook out and filed its shape:

http://i181.photobucket.com/albums/x276/ceodude/The%20Jeep/DSC00092.jpg

All I need to do now is to clean it up a lil and paint it and on the winch it gos :nice:

I'll try and take some better pics of the finish product and post them up as soon as I can...

Nice work on the hook, I did the exact same thing with a piece of rusty steel. Should be pretty strong.
