well, after watching this video, again, for the umpteenth billion time, i struggled to comprehend how i have not built one yet, ad couldnt come up with an answer. even more bizare is i have had all the parts for years. what have i been doing?
so off i went on my scavenger hunt for pars and am only really a tranny short.
i will get some different rims, probably the steel oem rc4wd , and i like the look of a wider tire on here as well.
i still need to get some parts for the rear tlt axle as well to make it not steer, and some different rods for the 4link set up.
i am using the stock bruiser shocks in the front rc4wd internal shocks in the rear.
also need a good theme or name to guide me to the finished look of the body as well.
but here it stands and i am pretty happy so far.
i like the look and stance with the lowered body.

i took 1bjb's advice and lowered the body some more, and i think it looks alot better.
i also "borrowed" an idea i saw him use a while back on one of his builds with the steering servo and mounted it up on the front plate. i like that its hidden, yet still very effective.

well, ive been on full throttle on this one and since i have to wait to finish on a tranny, i have been doing other things.
i wanted a quick build so i can drive it, and not spend the next year while i do lots of intricate details, but did want to do some things, one being a camper top.
so , i kocked this one out this evening, i think i need to scuff the windows a little since they arent visible.
i am going to make an opening rear hatch, but need a little break now.

still waiting on parts to make this a runner, so have been keeping busy making stuff.
sticking with the 80's theme
i cut up an old tlt chassis and used some scrap aluminum and suspension parts to make a push bar/winch mount. also put an aluminum skid plate under it.
modded up another set of pajero lights as well and fit them to the push bar.
did some more detail work to my 80's style camper shell as well

LOve the Camper C, it looks very much like the old aluminum one on My 88 Ford Ranger. I really like the look of the truck overall, has the look of a realistic lifted Toyota without the toyish stomper look of the stock Bruiser, makes me want to get back to work on my Toyota flatbed project :D

yeah, that was the idea. my 89 started to rust there, so i tried to get that look.

the parts are coming in, so some progress
mike sent me a chino skid plate, which i modded up a little and mounted with the transfer case and an original bruser shaft and a toaureg shaft, both wich i cut down a little to make fit.
i also got a straight axle kit for the rear tlt axle.
still waiting on the tranny, hopefully today it comes.

well, since i sill waiting on a tranny to finish this, my mind is starting to wander and i am back to doing ridiculous little details again.
since i am still using the stock rear mounts, i needed away to acces the pins to be alble to remove them, so the rear hatch needs to open and close.
sure, i could just slap some velcro on there and be done with it, but thats no fun, so i went for something a little more scale.
i am sure the first time i roll this truck, these things will break and fly off, but thats all in the fun.

made some step bars and rear bumper, painted the interior tan and swapped out the round lights in the pushbar for some vintage looking 80's square foggers.
also think i am going to keep the alloys on here.

well, i got really lucky, my friend dale(oldskool) sent me his tranny until mine gets here so i could get this puppy running, and it is and its a tank, lol.
everything is in and wired up and working, now to get it outside tomorrow and drive.
i also painted the inner ring on the wheels red, and am kinda regretting it, i dont like the way it looks. good thing about alloys, a little compound and a dremel and it will be all shiny again in no time.

about the only other options is to cut up rims and join them together to get the width you need.

Yeah, I have sawed-up a few sets of plastic wheels here lately. The trend in R/C is to go ever more narrow.

Some rigs look much better with the wide wheel and tire, but for some the narrow wheel looks better...IMO it all depends on the rig and the look your going for...:thumb:
