I've been wanting to do this for awhile, and I finally have most of the parts.

So far, I have the;

Pajero body
CR-01 Tranny
CR-01 chassis rails
TLT axles (be here next week)

Thank You McFig.:) I just wanted something that was kinda quick an easy. Nothing to drastic.

As you can tell by the pics, I've been bored waiting for the axles. I've cut off the stock bumpers and opened up the fenders a little. I ground off the mold lines on the sides, and filled in the sunroof. I'm not gonna make it too pretty, cause I plan on takin it to Salt Creek, soon, and its gonna be a mess down there, so I need to decide on wheel and tire size, I'm thinking 2.2's, something for mud and rock.

I have a Novak Rooster Crawler + 55 turn mtr headed to me in the mail also.

For now, the tranny and the cage it sits in are zip tied to the frame. I will paint the frame later. I've also tucked the tranny up a little higher and cut off the top part of the side rails.
I have enough aluminum tubes left over from my 3 sp builds to make the links to hold onto my TLT axles.

Im really being impatient, but I wanted to see what yellow would look like. Its only got 2 light coats now.

Hey great start to the build man, glad to see more creativeness around here. Keep it coming, can't wait to see what it looks like when it's done. Are you doing 1.9 or 2.2 tires??

Yes, about the yellow, its not done, but what ya think. I was thinkin pink at first. Seems to be everywhere I look anymore.

As for tire's my first thought was, (and I'm trying to stick to it,) is 2.2's, I just can't figure out what wheels and tires yet.

I ordered these on Friday, and they were waiting for me on my porch when I got home from work. :yahoo:

I think black wheels may look neat on it :D maybe even with yellow beadlocks?

What color yellow is that anyway??

My wife wants me to repaint my white hardbody brat (once the rock rash gets too severe)

The paint is Krylon fusion for plastic.. sunbeam\safety yellow from wally world.
I really like how it goes on and dries fast, even seems somewhat durable.

Thanks Erik, I'm not either, but I had decided several months back that if I built this, it would have 2.2's on it. I've given my GF a hard time for several years about how Im gonna take her 03 Chevy Tracker and turn it into a crawler, but she keeps saying "no", so this will have to do. :D

Its lettin me use up some of my leftovers from other builds. I have to keep changing to a bigger parts box for all the leftovers..:)

Here is where I am at. I used a servo mount (I think) from one of the highlift trucks, to mount the steering servo. Still have to build a battery tray and electronics tray. Waiting on the tires. I'll probably catch heck for the links from somebody, but I'm gonna run it that way till it breaks.

Thank You Northwest. Sometimes, you just have to :)

Waiting on tires, and a little fixing of my sloppy handpainting and sharpie use.

The links are all made, and I had to rearrange a little from the first setup, its much smoother now, plus my driveline is quieter. I shortened the punisher shafts I had leftover from my cr-01 FJ I had. Painted the chassis and shock towers and just about everything else, black.

I'll get some body off shots in the next day or too. It all went together very easily, and I used up a lot of leftover pieces from other builds. Maybe by then my tires will show up.

This is where I am stopping at tonite

nice I just repainted my f-150 body on the cr-01( the body damage from the deep forest 4x4 trail, it go's up for about 2 miles and it's up and down steep in clain's and low lieing tree's and mud) so in short the paint look's smooth again

chassis mounted steering servo... now you have my attention (mine took a bath, fortunately it worked again after drying out)

I was going to offer a set of running boards for it but I dont think they will fit (and I am not 100% sure I want to part with them)

I wanted it out of site, mostly, its still somewhat visible.

Thanks for the offer (sort of) :D :) I have a few left over from some parts trees I had picked up for other stuff, but I'm not sure if I will use any.

Thank You Wyo, its something I've wanted to build for quite awhile. As for the yellow, Me Too, and the it makes it easy for this ole man to see it. I hope to take it out this weekend and abuse it.

Now for a couple updates. Tinkering with a grill, pinstriping (had to use that red pinstiping somewhere), and a battery tray. As usual I still have to figure out the front mount, I even thought about putting holes in the hood for the mounts.

I either forgot to order the headlight buckets or I ordered the wrong ones, its been awhile, anyway I used the foglights (or whatever they are) from the wrangler build. I opened the headlight holes up just a little, they fit perfect , plus they are protected with their little screens  I may even put led's in it

Thank you Northwest, I took it out to Salt Creek this morning, she got banged up just a little, I was hoping for more, but in my haste I must have forgot to locktite the setscrew on the front driveshaft of the tranny output shaft, and it came apart after awhile. No tools with me, so I got out my jeep.

The truck looks great, but it looks like the 2.2's are almost a little too big on there.

You may want to look at getting some tall 1.9's like RC4WD Rok Lox's

Thank You McFig, I'm starting to think the same thing, I have some Geolanders I think I might try 1st. I have a set of those Roc Lox's on my club cab build, and if the Geolanders don't work out, I may pick up another set.

I also need different shocks or lower these on the shock towers. I've learned that setting up a link suspension from scratch isn't as easy as it looks. :)

Took my jeep and the newly redone Pajero, and got pics of the jeep and 2 whole pics of the jero before my camera batt died.

I put some highlift shocks on it, and lowered the top mounting hole on the tower, to raise the chassis up a little, but with a little droop.
