I love seeing the Pajero but I wonder if Tamiya has considered an updated CC-02 with fresh new hard bodies EG: Land Rover Defender, Jeep Rubicon Unlimited, Mercedes G55, FJ Cruiser, Dodge Ramcharger, Blazer, Bronco etc. Just curious if others would like to see a wider variety of Hard shells:)

Another big thing that could be added to a CC-02 is improved steering. Steering on the CC-01 is vulnerable to breakdown because of dirt and grit getting in the plastic shaft.

sounds like a good idea. wonder if we can convince tamiya to do it

Yeah, a CC-02 would be awesome. It is great that they re-released the MTW. But it is limited, and so many people love this chassis. It is a shame that this chassis isn't being made anymore.
Also just the CC-01 again would be enough for me...

I think that it would be a great idea to produce a CC-02 with some slight changes to it. Improving the steering would be an important point. Maybe a little more suspension travel also.

i know i have considered it. many times. they sure do upgrade the ta-chassis alot, so why not the xc. what are they up to like 5 on the ta, come on guys, we need gen 2. put an axle up front, that would be a start, and get rid of that box thing up front we have to whack off or cover up. bring it on, im ready.

I agree. We need a CC02, or some kinda update, I don't care what they call it. We also need more hard bodies. Tamiya would make a fortune if they came out with some new hard bodies, no matter the price. They could put light buckets in 'em to help sell some light units too. Maybe some old school trucks like a K5 Blazer, Bronco, Suburban, 4Runner, Nissan pickup or Pathfinder, International, etc... Tamiya: Give the people what they want.

Agreed! More hard bodies would be great! :D
Suburban and 4Runner would be sweet! :)

I'd be first in line if Tamiya made a CC01 with a Jeep Cherokee (not a grand cherokee) body on it.
Sort of like this:

for some reason you dont see any tamiya kits that i can think of that are chrysler products. i think after the wrangler debacle, there havent been any. but i could be wrong. now that they are a private company, things may change. it is a shame too. you see so many junky toys that are jeeps or vipers or other chrysler products, you would think they would want some quality representations of thier cars? but what do i know, i am just a simple caveman, who fell into some ice and was--- wait -thats not me.

That is very Cool, I like the standard Cherokees a lot, heck I'd even be happy with the liberty on the CC-01 with the live rear IFS front

I would lopve to see more hardbodies arrive on the market from Tamiya..
I soooo wish that I hadnt gotten rid of my 2 old clods years ago.. would have made this crawling thing easier when I got back into RC...

Maybe the re-re Pajero is Tamiya's way of doing some market research into how well another XC/CC hardbody truck would sell? It wouldn't surprise me to see something in the next 18 months.
From my own observations scale Trail Trucks started riding in on the waves from the crawling scene and is getting more popular every week, and Tamiya responded with the CR-01, I would love to see a CC-02, that would be cool :D

Tamiya NEEDS to do a 1978 Hardbody Blazer. I'd buy 10 of those. It's easy to do it with a Clodbuster body.

That Blazer is sweet. Really like that first pic. I'd buy one of those too.
Good point about the TA-?? chassis - why is it there are huge communities of scale off road enthusiasts yet we seem to get left behind while the on-road and buggy lot could drown in the sea of options open to them! :(

If Tamiya made a Land Cruiser 80 or Range Rover Classic, I would be all over them.

Do the ball bearing mod upgrade and you won't have to worry about this. I did it on mine and I love it.

A late-80's Hilux would be grand as well. The early one they do for the highlift is alright but the late-80's one was badda$$. It just looked so mean!

Live front axles and 4-runner or Cherokee XJ body would be awesome, and it would be cool if it was compatible against Axial's scx-10

Front axle, better link suspension, more variety of lightweight hardbodies, and some clear windows with interior options.

I'd like to see some older bodies. I wanna see a pajero/montero 1st gen swb body After all it's what stated mitsubishi's reign in dakar back in 1985. A old cj jeep body would be cool, a old mitsubishi jeep body would also be cool. I dont give a rats ass for the new prissy looking useless 4x4 like a fj cruiser. a old ram charger would be awesome.

I'm surprised at how few hard bodies there are to choose from. the Land Rover Defender is so popular.
I see a lot of request for a 4 runner. I'm up for that, vintage late 80's. I'm not a Jeep fan but an old CJ would probably sell well, one of the old wood panel cherokees from teh 70s. I would think a classic Land Rover, early 70's, 120 would sell well. I personally would love to see an FJ45 troop carrier or FJ55 (or a 62 or an 80... I like Land Cruisers).
And last but not least... a late 40's Dodge powerwagon.

wow this thread is still alive after two years lol! I would still like to see some more IFS shells to match the chassis, a Nissan Xterra, or FJ cruiser hardbody would top my list for a perfect fit to the chassis. But an first gen Nissan Pathfinder would work well, a late 80s Toyota truck and I would agree with the Ford ranger (I drive one).
If they do a CC02 it should be modular so it could be set up for IFS or live axle depending on body included with kit.

I think front live axle should be a cr-02 keep the cc ifs and maybe a smaller version of the cr?
I'd like to see more water tight diffs, and maybe more options on changing the gear ratio. Adding a 3:1 box takes some cutting. Different gear sets would be nice. Frankly I would be happy if they kept churning out new hard bodies lol.
