Talking Build thread for WIFE's XC!!

My wife said I could build her a rig... yay

Here it is... a $45 Jeep Wrangler roller and my existing Pajaro body that I plan to paint up like the atomic orange Xterra in the stripping hard body thread.

Its currently BONE stock. The diff's are not even locked and it sounds as if it may still have bushings

Though it does have some neat hybrid traxxas/tamiya drive shaft under it. Which means the shaft laying on the floor goes in my brat when I finally grendade my shaft in that.

Its getting my other old airtronics radio since my clod has an extra channel 90 receiver (I am still going to try and sell the clod)

Its definitely getting different tires and wheels as the stock wrangler wheels dont hold up to hardcore bashing (they crack if you nail a rock hard) That said who wants to buy the tires and wheels

More to come as I tear into it.

Nice....rebuilding my XC I picked up in a lot as well. Believe I can take them apart in my sleep at this point. l also had the idea of rebuilding it as an Xterra (I have an '06)

Are you planning any body mods or just painting it to match?

I would love for us to come out with an Xterra, I have asked many times. My vote would be a 03 body style (Like Mine)

I'm partial to Gen2 myself. 4.0, 6 speed and rear diff lock. Sold my Mustang when the baby came, but got over it quickly with a little help from Nissan.

The New Bright LR3 is fairly close to an Xterra, with some styrene work, would look pretty good.

Latest update... had a heck of a time getting this to work in Internet Explorer so posting it from firefox

The new RC4WD tires are mounted up ($40 find)
A bearing set is going in ($10 find)
Universals are going up front ($10 find)
its got a 1/4 inch body lift already and the 1/4 inch suspension lift is in the works. I have to work in like 10 hours so its not getting wrenched on tonight

Think I could win an ugly truck contest with it???

It will end up orange and gun metal once I finish stripping and sanding. Maybe it will have metal bumpers... not sure yet.

Looks like a burnt out truck that was left on the side of the road. LOL

    Tires look great.
